Extending our partners' teams with our own requires flexibility and a depth of knowledge in all of the roles that we offer. Web Designer/Developer

Joyce, Inc. is a provider of fractional digital teams to organizations that need additional skill sets to meet their technical and marketing goals. When an organization adds our team to theirs, the help they receive is expert, detailed, flexible and personable. We are a small team of problem solvers, avid learners and self-starters. Vision and creativity are vital to providing high quality deliverables.

We are seeking a creative person with a strong background in web design and a passion for user experience. You are able to work cross-functionally to support the design, web development and digital marketing roles providing deliverables for websites, social media, email and digital campaigns. You can see the bigger picture and provide solutions scaling from small requests to large projects and campaigns. This role will help our team and clients reach their goals through creativity and problem solving while staying on brand.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Conceptualizing and implementing creative ideas for internal & client websites, social messaging and digital ad campaigns
  • Communicating design ideas using wireframes, mockups and other visual tools
  • Analyzing feedback and successfully iterating to improve deliverables
  • Work within or establish design guidelines, standards, and best practices
  • Act as a core part of the site build team and assist with the creative process for a site's design, wireframe, navigational layout and user experience while aiming to meet the client's general goals and expectations
  • Build, update, enhance and maintain new and existing websites
  • Assist in troubleshooting existing websites, including doing research to provide options to solve unique issues or requests
  • Test as you build to provide deliverables that are compliant with industry standards as well as perform cross-platform/device testing and quality assurance testing on your own and other team members' work
  • Contribute to website optimization for mobile, speed, performance, accessibility and basic SEO
  • Help to maintain existing websites by participating in regular audits, updates and maintenance
  • Contribute to discussions on a range of topics including: design trends, UI/UX, functionality, process improvements and apply to your daily work
  • Keep up-to-date on web design best practices, trends and tools

Positions at Joyce, Inc. can often span several disciplines and see a variety of work, allowing an individual to learn and grow naturally with the company and our clients. The ability to work cross-functionally with various teams and a willingness to continue learning is a must.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree, coursework or equivalent work experience
  • 2 to 5 years of real world work experience
  • A strong portfolio of websites, graphics or other deliverables
  • Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other visual design tools
  • Ability to take feedback to improve designs and explain the decisions made via your knowledge and research
  • Excellent skills in visual design, conceptualizing/wireframing deliverables, etc.
  • The ability to create deliverables that are aesthetic, functional, and user-friendly
  • Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, including modern layout and responsive best practices
  • Good understanding of WordPress or other content management systems
  • Good understanding of website and search engine optimization principles
  • Ability to take in a request, ask relevant questions and boil down the needs into appropriate tasks/solutions

Web Developer

We are seeking a technically minded person with a strong background in web development and a passion for user experience. You are able to work cross-functionally on the web development needs of various internal and client departments. You can see the bigger picture and provide solutions scaling from small requests to large projects. This role will help our team and clients reach their goals through creativity and problem solving while providing practical, optimized and documented solutions.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Under general supervision, build, test, debug, document, implement and maintain client and internal websites
  • Act as a core part of the site build team and assist with the creative process for a site's design, wireframe, navigational layout and user experience while aiming to meet the client's general goals and expectations.
  • Analyzing feedback and successfully iterating to improve deliverables
  • Assist in troubleshooting, modifying, and enhancing existing websites and/or applications.
  • Contribute to discussions on a range of topics including: functionality, technical specs, design trends, UI/UX and apply those decisions to your daily work.
  • Test as you code to provide solutions that are compliant with industry standards as well as perform cross-platform/device testing and quality assurance testing on your own and other team members' work.
  • Successfully optimize websites for speed, performance, accessibility and basic SEO.
  • Maintain a regular schedule and execute maintenance for managed sites, including updates, audits and QA.
  • Keep up-to-date on web design best practices, trends and tools

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in on the job web design and development
  • Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, including modern layout and responsive best practices
  • The ability to create deliverables that are aesthetic, functional, and user-friendly
  • Experience with one or more forms of site optimization
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Experience working with various Content Management Systems while also being able to code pages from scratch when necessary
  • Experience with Bootstrap or other responsive frameworks
  • Experience with source control, such as Git
  • Experience with project/task management software
  • Good at problem solving and willing to do research to solve a particular issue
  • A portfolio or example work

Digital Marketer

We are seeking a creative, organized and team-oriented digital marketing manager to work on internal and client marketing initiatives. In this role, you will be helping our team relaunch our service offerings and bring our message to our target audience. You will have the opportunity to be involved in the many areas of digital marketing and in all aspects of those initiatives, through planning, implementation and analysis. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to have a voice on a growing team and doesn't want to be pigeonholed to limited responsibilities in a single department.

Responsibilities

  • Develop messaging for use across various channels, including website content and other marketing materials
  • Design, build and maintain our digital presence and content marketing strategy
  • Plan and execute all types of digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, email campaigns, social media and display advertising campaigns
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
  • Brainstorm, wireframe or design various types of creatives and deliverables
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize user experience
  • Collaborate with others, including our entire company, client teams, third party agencies, freelancers, vendors and partners
  • Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate

Requirements and skills

  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field
  • Proven working experience in digital marketing
  • Demonstrable experience planning and managing marketing campaigns
  • High creative abilities with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, conversion tracking, etc.)
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns, social media paid campaigns, etc.
  • Ability to envision assets needed for a particular digital initiative and communicate needs to other team members, such as graphic designers and developers
  • Experience with common CMS and website platforms, including Wordpress
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
