Client: High Flight Academy (Butler, PA)
Challenge: a new flight school needed to make their presence known and attract students.
Solution: a long-term marketing relationship consisting of...
High Flight Academy is a flight school based out of the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport. After trying multiple different approaches to getting their website built, they contacted us to get their site airborne (if you'll pardon the pun).
The client's requests:
After reviewing their technical needs, we concluded that Wordpress would be the best system.
Taking inspiration from the sky itself, we kept the site's design airy with lots of white space and rich blue accent colors. We used a mixture of stock photography and original photography to help users see the beauty of being in the pilot's seat.
After learning the aviation industry's lingo, we built out the content of the interior pages, which previously had been only one or two sentences each. We wrote thorough course descriptions, a mission statement, and ensured that every page includes at least one call to action button or form.
We incorporated a Woocommerce online store into the build. Once users fall in love with the idea of flying, they can close the transaction right on the website! We include goals in the online store for optimal tracking and measurement.
To encourage online interactions, we added a chat feature to help connect users with the enrollment team. The form can support live chat, or act as a contact form when no one is available online.
Following the site's launch, we turned our focus toward driving traffic and conversions. We helped plan and build out the school's social media presence with a content calendar for blogging, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
A content strategy is key for helping a new website (or social media presence) grow. We provide quarterly editorial calendars complete with blog entries, social media posts, and graphic design. We also write news and updates on the fly to support the school's newsletter.
First we ran a social media audit and created consistency among existing profiles (or created new ones) on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Snapchat. We have been running Facebook ads to build awareness, hire flight instructors, and get attendees at recruiting events.
This has been the crux of High Flight's online marketing plan. We ensure that High Flight shows up when people are searching for terms related to "flight school near me."
To get the word out about the school, we have written press releases and coordinated with local influencers. Our efforts have resulted in a Pittsburgh Business Times feature and a shout-out from a local lifestyle blogger.
Using both organic and paid techniques, we've grown their online presence and have helped the school secure ten full-time career students (and growing).
"These guys are doing a great job for us. Generating Lots of new new business. " - Robert Ferree, owner of High Flight Academy
